Keep this page open and connected until all example photos and colors finish saving. An internet connection is required for the studio availability and maintenance check when the app opens. Cached files do not bypass that launch check. After verification, photo tools run locally without background access checks. Personal photos stay temporarily on this device until removed or the page session ends.
Optional local AI needs its separate model download. Cached studio files do not guarantee AI is ready or access is available.

Wood & product guidance
Unknown species: the preview uses a neutral baseline and does not assume a wood type. Identify the species only when you have a reliable basis; otherwise test the selected product on the actual wood.
Illustration only. Different wood species and conditions can change how a stain looks and penetrates. Species, porosity, moisture, treatment, age, and preparation affect uptake and final color. Known species use an illustrative response that is strongest for transparent finishes and minimal for solid finishes, alongside substrate tone and grain. Unknown uses a neutral baseline rather than guessing a species. These response factors are modeling assumptions, not measured absorption coefficients and are not calibrated to any manufacturer formula. Test the selected product on your actual wood and follow its label.
Wood Defender: wood & product guidance
Transparent · Cedar Tone. Wood Defender’s wood-type guide distinguishes smooth or aged lumber from other surfaces. Transparent, Semi-Transparent, 200 Series, and Semi-Solid Latex remain separate formulas; choose the appropriate product rather than treating them as one absorption profile. The preview uses a small illustrative species-response adjustment to visible stain tint; it is not a measured absorption rate or a manufacturer-calibrated species-by-formula model.
Manufacturer guidance (opens in a new tab)The washed & prepared comparison is a modest illustration, not a literal cleaning prediction. Follow the product label for surface preparation and test a physical sample on your own wood.

A little heads-up: these are illustrative previews, not an exact color match. Wood species, age, lighting, and your screen all make a difference. Always test a sample first. Visit Wood Defender’s official stain catalog (opens in a new tab).
